As Leaders in the Tourism Industry in Mexico, it is our responsibility to highlight, protect and to fortify our natural resources and local communities. Explora Caribe Tours is pleased to confirm that we have made our commitment to the Environment and Local Communities where we work. We have been certified by Sustainable Travel International (STI) and in furthering our Sustainability and Social Awareness goals Explora has decided to implement the Environmental Management System aligned to the international standards of EarthCheck. This Organization is recognized worldwide and endorsed by the international criteria of the GSTC (Global Sustainability Tourism Council) that accredits it as a leader in Sustainability for the Tourism Industry.
Explora Caribe Tours has more than 20 years since we began operating tours and we currently have offices in 8 major ports of call and tourist destinations. We have put all our efforts in creating the best tourist destinations by offering tourist services that favor local and indigenous communities, promoting art, culture, gastronomy and sharing our incomparable natural beauty with national and international visitors. Due to our span of time hosting guests through tours and our nationwide presence this makes us both a leader in the tour operator Industry and the tour operator with most presence within Mexico. We provide employment sources to the elderly, to local communities and work hand in hand with local authorities focusing on the conservation of marine species as well as the restoration and education of our ecosystems. At this moment, without counting indirect or induced jobs, we generate more than 242 direct jobs to locals many of whom are indigenous in background and culture and we continue to strengthen sustainable development at a regional level, aligned with the National Sustainable Tourism Strategy in Mexico.
We believe faithfully that conservation is the best investment for responsible development. We are proud to be the first Tour Operator on the Island of Cozumel to carry out this EarthCheck International Certification process and we are committed to generate value through our teamwork in order to highlight the Mayan culture of Mexico for the World. We also intend to plant the seeds of Environmental Awareness in all our touristic services with the best quality, service and dedication with positive impacts in direct benefit to the local communities where we operate.
