General Info
Immerse yourself in the magic of Chiapas’ natural environment as you head off the beaten track in a six-person boat to explore natural mangrove streams and lagoons populated by wildlife and birds.
At the water’s edge, you will meet your captain and board the boat. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the spectacular views that surround you as your guide navigates the boat through the waterway. Experience nature in all her glory as wildlife, and especially the region’s diverse array of birds, appear along the way.
Your guide will share information about the area’s eco-system and point out various species of flora and fauna. You may see pelicans, herons, ospreys, cormorants, hummingbirds, egrets, spoonbills, storks, and turtles.
This nature reserve also provides a livelihood to the local fishermen who use the same tried and true methods of catching shrimp and crab that their fathers did before them. You might have the opportunity to watch them at work as you float toward the sea and the end of your exotic journey.
Notes:
The minimum age is 6 years. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Bring a hat, sunscreen, and insect repellent. This tour takes place in a completely natural environment and bird sightings are likely but are not guaranteed. Participants must negotiate 10 steps to get in and out of the boat.
