General Info
This caravan-style self-drive excursion involves driving your 4×4 Jeep Wrangler to Punta Sur Ecological Park.
Along the way, you’ll stop to spot crocodiles, visit a small, 1,200-year-old Mayan Ruin, and climb a 133-step lighthouse for a spectacular bird’s-eye view of the island.
At the end of the road, discover a secluded stretch of white-sand beach and a marine park. This area is perfect for snorkeling. Enjoy a refreshing swim or simply bask in the sun.
After snorkeling, a Mexican snack buffet is served.
Notes:
All Jeeps are stick-shift (manual). Four guests per vehicle; your vehicle may not be exclusive to your party. The minimum age is 8 years old. The minimum age to drive is 21 years old with a valid driver’s license. Wear your swimsuit under your clothing; bring a towel, hat, and reef-safe/biodegradable sunscreen (no other kind of sunscreen is allowed in the water). To avoid sunburn, bring light, long clothing suitable for use as a cover-up. There is a considerable swim out to the reef; snorkeling is suitable only for guests in good physical health. Pregnant women and guests with cardiac conditions, asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, certain medical restrictions, or back/neck injuries are not allowed to participate. The small ruins are a very minimal part of the tour — guests seeking significant Mayan ruins should opt for a different experience.
